9/11 Anniversary Covers

The Village Voice cover was from Sept. 25th, 2001. (Art director: Ted Keller, Photographer: Andre Souraujon.)

Reader's Digest is using the same image for the September 2011 issue.

"We thought the Voice cover was so brilliant, so perfect, and so under-seen, that the image should be used again" said RD's creative director, Robert Newman.

Paste Magazine's Nod to Time

Here is Paste's (January 2010) tribute to Time's famous 'Is God Dead?' cover. Also included a Wired cover that looks as if it was a less obvious tribute.

FSB & Reader's Digest Ironic Cover

FSB (Fortune Small Business) cover from May 2008 and Reader's Digest for November 2009.

Fortune Small Business specifically commissioned photographer Michael Cogliantry for the FSB cover. (The type the crook is holding was actually real and made of foam core.) Photo editor for the shoot was Katy Howe Binder.

Looks as if Reader's Digest bought secondary rights to the image and added their own type in the crook's hands.
